A Bakersfield mother who claimed the death of her young son eight years ago was an accident has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison. Four-year-old Mark Dixon died in April 2010, 35-year-old Alexis Dixon pleaded no contest last month to voluntary manslaughter and willful cruelty to child, after she and her husband maintained for years that boy fell after a seizure and hit his head outside their trailer on Stockdale Hwy.
