SO CAL GAS GROWS WITH THE COUNTY

A major natural gas supplier in Kern County has broken ground on a huge new facility in north Bakersfield. Rob Duchow with Southern California Gas says the demand for service has gone up and their current building in Oildale is just too small. “We’ve been in that facility for more than 60 years, the population of Kern County has quadrupled in that time, and we outgrew the facility several years ago.” The building off Merle Haggard Drive and SR 65 will cover more than 31-thousand square feet when it’s ready next year, and will include a filling station for compressed natural gas for use in trucks, buses and cars for businesses and the public.
