A man who threatened to set himself on fire in south Bakersfield is jailed on arson and attempted murder charges. Police say the unnamed suspect set his apartment and a car on fire Thursday as they performed a welfare check at South H Street. Six officers suffered smoke inhalation during the incident, two officers and the suspect had minor injuries.
