MOTHER, BOYFRIEND PLEAD NOT GUILTY IN TOT DEATH

The Bakersfield mother and her boyfriend accused of killing her two-year-old son have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and child abuse charges.

19-year-old Ayled Chavez and 20-year-old Kaleb Kessinger say little Ramon Reyes-Chavez died when he was accidentally hit by a car door.

The boy’s body had blunt force trauma to the head when he was found in the Kern River Canyon Thursday. Chavez had originally told police he was abducted.

Kessinger was caught in Bakersfield Friday after a large search.
