SEX OFFENDER CAUGHT AFTER CHASE

A sex offender who escaped after leading law enforcement on a 100 mile chase from Los Angeles to Kern County has been caught in a rail yard in Barstow.

LA County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 46-year-old Stephen Houk in a rail car around 4:30 Thursday afternoon without incident, however they did not find his revolver. Investigators believe he hitched a train after ditching his RV in an almond orchard off Merced Avenue north of Bakersfield on Tuesday.
