A critical incident review board has cleared a Bakersfield Police officer who fatally shot a 20-year-old man. The Board says Officer Warren Martin was within state and federal guidelines when he struck Augustus Crawford after a foot chase on Planz Road near South H Street in November.

Martin is the son of chief Lyle Martin, who recused himself from the investigation.

Warren Martin has been returned to duty.
