MAN GUILTY IN RAPE FOR HIRE

A Bakersfield man is facing 50 years to life in prison after he was found guilty of raping the wife of an acquaintance for $200.

Deputy District Attorney Courtney Lewis says Haliki Green and Russell Higgins plotted the assault on Mrs. Higgins after doing drugs in a Union Avenue motel in 2016. Green and Higgins also tied up and attacked the victim in her Tehachapi home before the rape.

Russell Higgins was convicted of rape last month and could also be sentenced to 50-years-to-life in prison.
