Kern Behavioral Health has launched the “Wear Green Save Green” campaign to raise awareness about mental health.

Spokesman Roger Perez says one in five people in Kern County will deal with a mental health issue at some time in their life, and they hope those green ribbons get people talking.

Some restaurants are also giving discounts this month if you wear the ribbons: Guild House, Killer Poke, Pita Paradise, Crab in a Bag, Red Pepper Restaurant, Maui Wowi, Slice of Italy, Tastries Bakery, and Rio Acai Bowls.

Others offering discounts include: Samsara Wellness Center, Bellissima Spa, and Unity Salon.

May is National Mental Health Awareness Month.
