County Veterans Services says wait times have gone down significantly over the past year.

In a video message to Supervisors Tuesday, Director Dick Taylor says the Launch Kern efficiency program the county introduced in 2017 eliminated unnecessary positions, which reduced wait times from 90 days to 10.

Taylor says they also saved $23,000 and served 200 more veterans.
