Asher Street Market in Taft has been closed by Kern County Public Health, which found numerous violations during a recent inspection.

A walk-in cooler was not cold enough for dairy products, jello, and deli meats while the soda dispenser had a “slimy black residue” on the nozzles. It’s unknown when the market on Asher Avenue and Crystal Street will reopen.
