COUNTY FIRE BUSY IN BAKERSFIELD, LAMONT

County firefighters are investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire that tore through an east Bakersfield apartment complex.

The fire started around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and Virginia Avenue and burned eight units before it was knocked down. No one was hurt, but several families have been displaced.

Everyone made it out okay after a car fire spread to a trailer home near Lamont. County firefighters are investigating what sparked Wednesday afternoon’s fire on South Vineland Road and Buena Vista Blvd. The mobile home is considered a total loss.
