NEW WARNINGS FOR CITRUS PEST

The Kern County Ag commissioner says our citrus crop is okay despite a state warning against transporting trees. Glenn Fankhauser thinks regulators panicked after a small outbreak of citrus greening disease near LA, and believe the warning is an extra push to get the word out to people who are not following the rules. The Asian Citrus Psyllid is a tiny pest that carries the disease that’s destroyed 75-percent of Florida’s crop. It has not been seen this year in Kern County.
