A police standoff at the Rio Bravo Country Club in northeast Bakersfield ended when they arrested the assistant principal of McKee Middle School for sex acts with a teenager.

Sgt. Brian Holcombe says they called in SWAT before 5:30 Monday morning when 53-year-old Ector Peredia holed up in his house on Via Bassano Drive as they served a warrant. Peredia came out four hours later.

It’s unclear how the victim knows Peredia, who is on paid administrative leave.
