A man is being treated for smoke inhalation after his house caught fire in southeast Bakersfield.

The fire started around 12:30 Thursday afternoon on East Fairview Road and Don Street and sent a large column of smoke into the air. Bakersfield firefighters have not released a cause for the fire or a damage estimate.
