Environmentalists and several states are suing to ban a pesticide that’s widely used in Kern County. Fredrick Brody with the New York Attorney General’s office told a federal appeals court Monday that Environmental Protection Agency reports confirm chlorpyrifos causes developmental disabilities in children. Still, the EPA says it hasn’t finished testing the pesticide and any ban should be based on “sound science”.
