A 15-year-old boy is being charged with attempted murder after Sheriff’s deputies say he threw a lit firework into a crowd of people.

The bomb squad was called to Virginia and Flower streets in east Bakersfield Wednesday when witnesses reported an explosion had injured a person. The boy was arrested the next day.
