PEREZ GAG ORDER

A judge has issued a gag order in the case of Kern County Supervisor Leticia Perez, who’s facing conflict of interest charges over her vote last year against a marijuana ban. The District Attorney’s Office had requested the gag order over concerns the jury pool would be tainted. Meanwhile, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund is asking the California Attorney General to investigate whether Perez was charged because of her testimony in a recent lawsuit that forced the county to redraw supervisory districts.
