The Valley Air Pollution Control District is asking people to keep an eye on the sky in case smoke from the 36-square mile Ferguson Fire near Yosemite makes its way to Kern County. Spokeswoman Heather Heinks says the smoke already triggered a health caution this week and we can’t count on the winds to keep it away. The District recommends young children, the elderly and people with respiratory conditions to stay indoors if they start smelling smoke.
