Bakersfield Police are patrolling downtown to improve the parking congestion and access to businesses. Sgt. Brian Holcombe says they started the enforcement July 9th by issuing warnings, but since have written several hundred tickets. Holcombe says the experience of going downtown has been compromised and encourages people to use the parking garage on the corner of 18th and Eye streets, meanwhile the enforcement will continue.
