A man who led CHP officers on a slow speed chase around Shafter Monday morning has been taken into custody.

The incident began before 7:00a.m. with a burglary and carjacking, and it was ended about an hour later in the interest of public safety. A K-9 officer was deployed to convince the suspect to get out of the vehicle about 20 minutes after it stopped.
