The Kern County District Attorney’s office says two Bakersfield Police officers were justified in using force to subdue a man, who later died of cardiac arrest.
63-year-old Jose Viloria had been threatening to kill people with a machete at his Lacey Street home two years ago when he ran at officers Zachary Burdick and Timothy McIrvin, who wrestled him down and began CPR when he passed out.
The tussle happened close to the weapon, but it was not used.
