The Porterville Police sergeant charged with molesting a 17-year-old girl has resigned.

Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies say 33-year-old Wayne Martin was off-duty when he was caught with the victim inside a car on Jay Street and Baker Avenue in September. The girl is part of the police Explorers program, which Martin had supervised.
