SUPERVISORS PUT POT ON BALLOT

Kern County Supervisors have voted to put a measure on the ballot in 2020 to legalize medicinal marijuana shops, over the objections of patients and store owners who wanted them legalized immediately.

The 29 legal dispensaries operating now will stay open until May.

If passed, the measure would allow 60 pot shops that would be zoned a thousand feet from schools. They could only be open from 8a.m. until 10p.m. and would be taxed to fund public safety and schools.
