Kern County Public works is ready for thousands of Christmas Trees that will be recycled. Solid Waste Supervisor Chuck Magee says most will be ground up for mulch and some will go to co-generation facilities, but a few others could be used for something special, like fish habitat in local lakes. Magee is glad people want to do the right thing and recycle, but says to make sure everything is off the tree before you bring it to one of their 24 drop off locations.
