Kern County and Bakersfield firefighters had to douse a two alarm fire early this morning at the old Mervyn’s in East Hills Mall. Crews had to make a forced entry into the vacant building and photos show the burned doorway and smoke coming from the roof. That section of the mall has been undergoing renovation.
