23 KERN CO VETERANS ON LATEST HONOR FLIGHT

Another group of World War II and Korea veterans are in Washington DC, courtesy of Honor Flight Kern County. Spokesman Charlie Wilmont tells our partners at 17 News the all-expense-paid trip gives them a chance to see the monuments built in their honor, and reflect on what they endured for their country. “These guys went, they fought for their country, they came back, they got on with their lives.” Tuesday’s flight from Meadows Field was the 37th Kern County Honor Flight, they return Thursday night at 8:30 and the public is encouraged to come welcome them home.
