A man and woman are both dead after a crash on Route 223 and South Edison Road near Arvin. The CHP says it happened around 530 this morning when a Toyota Corolla heading westbound crossed into the eastbound lanes and slammed into a Chrysler PT Cruiser. The driver of the Toyota and a passenger inside the Chrysler both died. Highway 223 was closed for hours while the CHP investigated the crash.
