His walk along the 58 Freeway led to an altercation with the CHP, and caused a traffic snarl that lasted for hours. Now we know more about how 40-year-old Jason Gonzalez died. This happened back on August 30th east of the Union Ave exit, when a CHP Officer saw Gonzalez on the freeway, and tried to get him off. Gonzalez was taken to Kern Medical where he was pronounced dead. The Kern Coroner says it was accidental, and notes Gonzalez had meth in his system.
