Newsom Issues State of Emergency Over Wildfires

(Sacramento, CA) — Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency due to the several wildfires burning across the state. Newsom said by declaring a statewide emergency, California will get the resources it needs to fight the wildfires. Earlier this week, the governor secured Fire Management grants from FEMA, which will go towards the state’s fire response in Napa, Nevada and Monterey counties.
