Massive NorCal Wildfires Continue to Grow

(Undated) — The two largest lightning-caused wildfire complexes in Northern California are already in the history books and are now almost the exact same size. Cal Fire says both the North Bay’s LNU and the Central Valley’s SCU Complex have burned through just under 369-thousand-acres and both are about a third contained. The LNU gained about eight-thousand-acres overnight and overtook the SCU for the second largest wildfire event in California history by less than 200-acres. The SCU Complex gained about 13-hundred-acres overnight and containment increased from 30-to-35-percent.

Most of the growth in the LNU was in the Hennessey Fire’s north side near the Napa-Lake County line. The Walbridge Fire west of Healdsburg is still holding at about 55-thousand-acres and 19-percent contained.
