Glass Fire Grows But Containment Improves

(Calistoga, CA) — The Glass Fire keeps growing in Northern California, but containment is improving a little. Cal Fire says the five-day old blaze churned through another five-thousand-acres overnight to more than 56-thousand, but containment has improved from just two-percent to five-percent. The main battle front is in the hills on both sides of the Napa Valley between St. Helena and Calistoga. The weather will stop cooperating today, as a northwest wind picks up, temperatures rise and humidity levels drop. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning and a Heat Advisory for today and Friday for the North and East Bay hills and the Santa Cruz Mountains.
