(Sacramento, CA) — Data from the Employment Development Department is revealing how widespread the unemployment fraud may be. More than 30-thousand addresses appear to have been used to apply for EDD benefits for ten or more different people. The EDD previously acknowledged that the scammers often use stolen identity information from national and global data breaches to apply for benefits in victims’ names.
