Silverado Fire Breaks Out in Orange County

(Irvine, CA) — A wind-whipped fire is burning in the hills above Irvine, California. The so-called Silverado Fire broke out this morning and quickly burned through 50 acres of vegetation. Smoke from the fire has moved west, passing the 241 toll road and blanketing the eastern portions of Irvine, including populated areas like Orchard Hills. The Orange County Fire Authority is battling the fire from the ground and the air. As of 8:30 this morning, the fire was zero-percent contained.
