Firefighters Make Progress on Two O.C. Wildfires

(Orange County, CA) — Firefighters made good progress overnight battling two wildfires that are threatening thousands of homes in Orange County. The Silverado Fire burning in the hills above Irvine and Lake Forest is now 25-percent contained. The Blue Ridge Fire burning near Chino Hills, Yorba Linda, and Diamond Bar is now 16-percent contained. About 100-thousand residents have been ordered to evacuate their homes. Only one structure has been destroyed. Two firefighters are in the hospital after suffering severe burns.
