County Director of Public Health Bryn Carrigan told the Board of Supervisors the number of ICU hospitalizations has increased from two to nine this past week, which she says is concerning but still well below the highest levels in January. Carrigan also says all three metrics needed to progress to the least-restrictive yellow tier have increased, which means the soonest Kern County could move to the yellow tier is in two weeks, on May 26.
