The Kern County Board made the decision today to postpone the 2021 Kern County Fair. Those who voted for the cancellation say there is not enough time to get the contracts together including stages, entertainment, and vendors. Those who voted against cited the lowered covid-19 numbers in the community, but were ultimately outvoted.   The decision does allow for a different type of event to be held at a later time or in a smaller proportion, with members suggesting a festival instead of a fair. There will still be a livestock show in-person.
