No Charges for Frazier Park Man Who Shot Burglar

They’re calling it “self-defense.” The Kern County Sheriff’s Office says no charges for a homeowner in Frazier Park who shot an attempted burglar. On Thursday, deputies with the KCSO were called out at 5:23 p.m. to 4200 block of Irvon Trail in Frazier Park for the victim of a shooting. When they arrived, an adult male was located with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital for medical aid.

Through their investigation, deputies learned the man had stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road, caused a disturbance and attacked a homeowner. He then attempted to break-in to the home. The homeowner then fired a shot in self-defense wounding the would-be burglar.

According to KCSO, no charges are filed against the homeowner while the man shot, once medically cleared, was booked into jail for attempted burglary and crimes related to the assault.
