18-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Attempted Kidnapping

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman in north Bakersfield Tuesday morning after allegedly trying to kidnap three children. The full release is below:

On November 23, 2021 at 5:14 p.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 5400 block of Olive Drive for a possible kidnapping. Upon arrival, and after additional investigation, it was discovered an adult female suspect had attempted to kidnap three separate children from two different locations. The suspect first attempted to take two children in a stroller being pushed by their mother in the area of Olive Drive and Knudsen Drive. The suspect then attempted to take a child walking with his mother in the same area.

Deputies ultimately located the suspect near Olive and Knudsen where a brief struggle ensued. The suspect, identified as Alina Serda (age 18), had been released from the Central Receiving Facility only a few hours prior to this incident taking place. Serda was taken into custody with the use of minimal force causing no injuries and charged with felony attempted kidnapping and resisting/obstructing an officer.
