The Bakersfield Police Department is searching for one more suspect wanted in connection to a homicide that took place last month. The full release is below:

On December 23rd, 2021, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department arrested Demitris King (28) of Bakersfield for murder, participation in a criminal street gang and conspiracy, regarding his role in the shooting death of an adult male in the 3300 block of Wible Road on November 3rd, 2021. King was taken into custody with no incident in the 3500 block of M Street.

On December 28th, 2021, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department arrested David Gray (19) of Bakersfield for murder participation in a criminal street gang and conspiracy, regarding his role in the shooting death of an adult male in the 3300 block of Wible Road on November 3rd, 2021. Gray was taken into custody with no incident in the 2600 block of Fremont Street.

One additional suspect, with an active arrest warrant for murder, conspiracy and gang participation is outstanding.

Christian Francois Gaines is described as a male, 19, 6’3″, approximately 210 pounds, neck tattoos

Gaines should not be approached by the public and may be armed. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department immediately.

The victim has been identified as Justin Anthony Griffin Jr. (21) of Bakersfield.

On Wednesday, November 3rd, at approximately 10:32 PM, officers of the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 3300 block of Wible Road regarding an injury shooting.

An adult male victim in a vehicle was located and declared deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office at a later time.

There is no public suspect information at this time. This is the 54th homicide in the City of Bakersfield in 2021.
