Bakersfield Homeless Center Receives $10,000 Worth of Donations from GEO Group

The Bakersfield Homeless Center received a helping hand from the GEO Group.

The private prison company donated 10-thousand dollars worth of goods to the center today [Tue] after hearing about the fire that gutted one of the Center’s storage facilities. Center CEO Lauren Skidmore says with 200 current residents and hundreds more getting housing assistance, these supplies will go to good use as there is always a need. The goods include things the Center asked for such as microwaves, sheets, vacuums, and refrigerators.

Skidmore adds without community partnerships, they would not be able to do their work helping others.
