Convicted Bakersfield Felon Arrested with Firearms and Narcotics

The Bakersfield Police Department has arrested a man after a firearm was seen during a traffic stop.

On May 10th, 2022, officers with the Bakersfield Police Department conducted a vehicle code enforcement stop on a vehicle in the 2200 block of College Avenue and observed a firearm in the vehicle in plain sight. Travon Cook (34) of Bakersfield, a convicted felon, was arrested with no incident. A search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed three illegally possessed firearms, as well as cocaine and fentanyl pills disguised as prescription medication.

Cook was transported and booked into the Kern County Jail for possession of controlled substances for purposes of sales, felon in possession of firearms, gang participation, as well as other associated firearm and vehicle code violations.
