A standoff with Bakersfield police and a suspect has ended after several hours overnight. 59 year-old Richard Firo of Bakersfield was taken into custody around 3:45 this morning on Cibola Drive, near White Lane and Gosford Road, after holding himself up in the home since around 9 o’clock last night. Police say at one-point, he fired several shots at officers, and three officers returned fire. No one was hit. It apparently began as a domestic violence incident. Body camera footage will be released later. The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave.
