Students responsible for a threat to Highland High School have been taken into custody.

The Kern High School District reported a social media post said a shooting was rumored to happen at the campus on Royal Scots Way on Monday.

The threats were found to be not credible.

A statement was sent to parents from the district which said safety is their first priority.

Officials expressed their thanks to the individuals who reported the threat.
