A man who crashed into an east Bakersfield bar during a high speed-chase pleads no contest to two felonies.

Prosecutors say Manuel Gonzalez, 23, admitted to driving drunk and evading police.

The crash happened last June on Niles Street when Gonzalez sped through a red light, hit an SUV, then slammed his vehicle into the Stella’s Sandtrap.

Several people inside the bar were hurt.

Gonzalez faces nearly seven years in prison at his sentencing next month.
