A Bakersfield man faces serious charges after allegedly holding Kern County Sheriff’s deputies at bay for nearly thirteen hours.
KCSO says Keith Julifs, 37, barricaded himself inside a home in the 100 block of Ray Street in Oildale at around 6:30 p.m. Monday after being wanted on suspicion of illegal possession of a firearm and felony evading.
Julifs reportedly refused to surrender to SWAT officers and allegedly fired several shots from inside the home.
Depuites say he managed to run away from the house but was apprehended Tuesday morning with the help of the Bakersfield Police Department’s SWAT team.
He faces charges of attempted murder and resisting arrest as well as and possession of a firearm.
