The investigation continues after a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the hand during an officer-involved shooting in northeast Bakersfield.

Deputies were called to the 600 block of Water Street around 6:30 a.m. Friday after getting reports of a man armed with a hammer, a machete, and a gun.

Three people were injured. KCSO hasn’t released any specific information about the shooting.

Two deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on critical incident leave.
