A state task force uprooted more than 105,000 marijuana plants and seized more than 22,000 pounds of processed cannabis in what officials are calling the Central Valley’s largest pot-busting operation to date.
The massive effort involving several agencies took place the week of May 5 and focused on illegal grow operations in Kern, Tulare, and Kings counties.
Dozens of warrants were served, and several people were apprehended. Nine guns were seized.
Governor Gavin Newsom said Tuesday the estimated value of the confiscated cannabis is $123.5 million.
Officials say the state’s Unified Cannabis Enforcement Task Force has eliminated $650 millionin illegal cannabis, has destroyed 800,000 illegal plants, and seized over $1 million in cash during raids since 2022.
