Ten people in Bakersfield are facing numerous charges for performing contracting work without a license.

Investigators with the Contractors State License Board conducted a two-day sting in April and received bids from the suspects ranging from $1600 to $4800, well over the $1,000 limit that requires a license to perform work.

Some of the suspects also asked for excessive down payments. All ten contractors have been ordered to appear in court.
