A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after police say he crashed into a gas station sign in east Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol says Derek Sanders hit the sign near the Fastrip at Niles Street and Mt. Vernon Thursday night.

A front-seat passenger was moderately hurt and was taken to the hospital.
