A 30-year-old Bakersfield man faces murder charges in the death of his 74-year-old roommate.

Police say Jason Garibay beat and kicked Domingo Trevino to death. Trevino’s body was discovered Monday morning at an apartment in the 400 block of South Williams Street.

Garibay pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of first-degree murder and injury to a dependent adult. He’s being held without bail and returns to court June 16.
